A Drop
"I got blood". Garrett doesn't like to "get blood". He is pretty dramatic about it. I am one of those Mothers who is totally fine with the use of band aids for very small or non-existent drops of blood.

Brakes
Before throwing these boots out we had to take a picture to document how they were used. We have a hill for a driveway and the kids go flying down it on their bikes. Garrett, not wanting to travel quite as fast, came up with a great idea for breaks. He just drug his rain boots all the way down the hill. Not so great for the boots but pretty effective as brakes.

A girl and her chickens
Sierra loves the chickens the most. In fact the other day we were playing hide and seek and no one could find her. She was hiding in the chicken house, good smelly spot.
Science and Running
We spent a few nights at the track helping Sierra with her 5th grade science project. She was testing running surfaces and footwear. The weather was warm and the sun was setting later in the day, good signs of summer's arrival.

Mac #7
Eric completed his 7th MacDonald Forest Ultra Marathon last month. As always I took the kids to the start and we watched the group take off. After the start Garrett followed the racers yelling, "I"m gonna beat you!" Before the race the kids and I wrote messages on tons of paper plates and hung them on the trees lining the trail that takes Eric from our house to the start of the race.
I am so proud of all Eric accomplishes doing this race. He motivated a few others to try trail running this year and worked hard to finish, even with an injury and lack of training time. I love watching this race even if it stresses me out every year. The only part I don't like its Eric's feet after the race. He is still losing toenails.
We love Mac Forest, it's such a beautiful place to live, run and breathe.
