Allie is 8

Allie turned 8 years old on December 28th!  She had a little after school party with snacks, bracelet making and a trip to Market of Choice for treats.

She loves clothes, styling her own hair, cran-raspberry juice, art, crafts, music, American Girl dolls and playing with her cute cousin Lola.

January will be a special month  for her too.  She will be baptized and become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

We are so glad Allie is in our family and for all that she teaches us.  She is a very special girl.

Happy Holidays!

Summer Revisited

Yes, this was summer.  My sister planned a Red Carpet night for our family reunion.  Every family did a music video, wore red carpet attire, ate fancy food and watched a really great show.  If I can figure out how to post our music video I will.  I also got a rare picture of all of my siblings in one place. Left to right:  Lesley, Kyle, Krisha, Nic, me and  Lauren (the very creative sister and master of ceremonies.)  She planned such a great event!

Boot Cuffs

I think these boot cuffs are so fun.  They are just for looks of course, unless your upper calf gets really cold.  I think mine must so a pair of these would be helpful.  This etsy site has a ton of great options.

Cross Country 'Cross Racing

Confused?  Eric didn't get in much Cyclocross racing this year...only one race in fact.  He did however get some practice doing pace bike duties for the high school cross country team at their home meet.  People were worried he was going to hit the hay bales and then were wowed by his fancy maneuvers.  These pictures were taken by a Mom of one of the athletes, so cool!

25km trail race

This fall I ran my second 25km trail race and it's right here in my backyard, almost.  Part of the course runs right near the trail to our house. When I got to that spot Eric, Eric's dad and my kids were all there cheering me on.  The had lined to trail with signs that had special and humorous meaning that only I would get.  I also was greeted by a few yellow paper plates stapled to trees in just the right places.  I know who put them there, the same friend who loaned me her hot pink socks. Thanks Meg. I am not fast but I enjoy the challenge of a 25km and the beauty!

Days full of snow

The first official snow day was filled with sledding (at 7:30am), hot chocolate, sledding with the neighbors, hot chocolate, snow cone making with the neighbors and more hot chocolate.  This may be the first picture taken of Garrett wearing pants and a coat this year too!  The first snow day is always the best and then came the 5th.  People actually start to miss school by then.  Especially people named Mom.

Icefall

I wish I had somewhere I could wear one of these dresses.  I am not sure where that somewhere would be but it would be fun to "dress-up".   I especially love the blue one it's called "Icefall."  Maybe I am just wishing to get out in something other than a coat.  We are on our 5th snow day here!  Yes, 5th!

Snow Day

Snow and freezing temperatures have kept us home and stuck unless we use chains.  Allie was out shoveling the driveway for us today.  She had her own little method figured out.

Growing up

I went and held a baby who was 4 days old yesterday.  He was so small, my kids are not small anymore, especially this cute girl.  She was 4 days old once too even if it's hard to believe it looking at her now.
