Hot, Hot, Hot!

I think the sprinkler will be on a lot this week. With temperatures like 106 degrees water is a must! I am pretty sure we live in the NW but it sure doesn't feel like it this week.

Just to get you in the mood...

Scientist...

Coldplay...and what I missed out on.

Wish I was there...

*Taken from an article

Traffic backs up the off ramp on I-5 for the Coldplay concert at the Amphitheater at Clark County. The dreaded sign was beside the freeway yesterday.
You know, the one that has many north Clark County residents shaking in their boots ... and sometimes shaking on their decks.

Translation for locals --
Traffic, headaches, frustration, noise.
Road closed.
Go the long way home.
Stock up on earplugs.

Yes, another event at the Amphitheater at Clark County.

Coldplay is the first of four concerts this year and the only one in the history of this venue to sell out according to a recent article in The Oregonian.

And although the amphitheater website said the concert was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., traffic was still backed up on I-5 at 8 p.m. And it only gets worse after the show.

As one frustrated resident said after following a confused out-of-state driver looking for the concert, "I just want to get home."

So what do locals do on nights like this?

Plan to be away.
Leave town.
Or hunker down for the long haul.

This is me...that's right, plan to be away, leave town and hunker down. I wish I was there with Eric Martin and Chris Martin! I knew Coldplay was going to be, oh so close to me, but I also knew Garrett would probably not enjoy a live concert. I have yet to go to a live concert in my life, well, unless you count the Oakridge Boys at the County Fair. It's on my life list of musts, see Coldplay in Concert and U2. Noble goals I know.

U2 was in Portland 3 1/2 years ago and Eric was there rockin' out on the front row and I was 9 months pregnant at home (I did buy him the tickets knowing I couldn't go and I was happy for him, really.) I love my babies and someday I can add "I loved that Coldplay concert!"

That was then...

This is now!

My friend Kari and her family came through town. We had A LOT of fun during our BYU days. You can see the "back to school" picture for our Moms on the first day of class (we were trying to look like kids). And yes, we look like dorks in that first picture but we were (and still are) pretty cool. She has 4 kids in the same order as mine. Too bad we live miles and miles apart. Thanks for the visit Kari! Next time it must be our turn.

Picture overload...

I was looking through old pictures from July 2006 and I can't believe how much my little chubby babies have grown.

Happy 4th!

This is one of my favorite pictures from years past, what cute kids!

Fountain fun...

Sierra spends a lot of time doing just this. And Mason spends his time saying, "Sierra I want you to play with me, Sierra come play with me," while she is doing it.

That is Mason's idol Ender in the background, it's easy to see why.

Allie showing off her goods.

Tweet, tweet...

The kids were pretty excited o find this nest full of eggs. It was near a tree(it must have fallen out) not in the yard or forest but in the parking lot of Home Depot of all places.

Summer Days...

A bike/stroller ride to "the forest" for exercise and wildflowers.

Babies and baskets

Either my baby is too big or my basket is too small. All my kids have blue eyes but I think Garrett's are the bluest.
