Deer

Just something we saw hanging around the neighborhood.  Mason spotted him first and for some reason it never gets old to see a buck.  They look so big and strong.

The Vampire and the Bat

Sierra made her own costume this year and Mason and Allie came up with their own without much help from me.  I challenged the kids to not spend any money or they may have heard me say I wouldn't spend any money on costumes.  We have so many dress-up items and resources here at home.  I think they learned you could actually make something out of what you already have.  They also checked out Grandma's attic for things they might use.

Mason asked me to buy Harry Potter glasses and Allie wanted fangs and that seemed reasonable enough.  I hope it taught them a little bit about resourcefulness.  By the time they all had a bucket full of candy I really don't think they cared what they were wearing.

The Captain

It was pretty much impossible to get a picture of all four kids together on Halloween.  Garrett will wear a costume for about 4 minutes and did not want his picture taken.  He was the same pirate Mason was at 4 years old and the wig is just as funny now as it was then.  Garrett spent his evening trick or treating in shorts and a t-shirt, his normal 4 year old costume.  He wasn't in a good mood but once he starting getting Kit Kats he was fine.  He would only take Reeses, Kit Kats and Hershey Bars from people. If there was one candy bucket to steal it would have been his, no tootsie rolls or dots in his stash.

Sunriver

I little weekend escape with just the two of us has become a fall tradition.  One I intend to keep.  A little mountain biking, a lot of eating, a little shopping (Eric would say a lot) and a lot of time with no distractions.  We couldn't have done it without Eric's Mom and Dad.  Thank you!

Game Days

It is the final week of Fall soccer for Allie and Mase.  Four less days of after school driving sounds really nice to me right now.  The weather last weekend was just about as perfect as could be for an October day in the NW.
