Ugh

I thought this would be my fastest half-marathon, The Bald Peak 1/2 Marathon.  Hah, it was my slowest.  I blame that on the time I spent in the bushes with TP, my stomach was not happy starting at about mile 5.  It was a harder course than I thought and it just wasn't my day.  I am happy I finished and thought I would never run a 1/2 again but I think I need to challenge this course again next year and beat it!  It was a pleasant day, other than the bushes part, with pretty scenery, wet weather, Eric came along to cheer me on and I won a pair of nice running socks.  Next year will be better.

Allie is creative in many ways, especially in her style and clothing.  I decided to take a picture of her before school for a week.  She finds her own outfits and does her own hair and it is always a surprise to see what she comes up with.  I think she will enjoy looking back at her kindergarten self.  Oh, and she comes up with her poses all on her own, I say nothing and just take the pictures.

Downton style

North and South

  I admit it, I watched all of Downton Abbey, 3 episodes in one day in fact.  (I was sick that day.)  But it's all a bunch of soap opera trash no matter how you look at it.  Argue if you must, but it's true. 

I do love the characters and the clothes but I have a new love.  North and South.  It has become my favorite movie/mini-series.  I am reading the book now.  I love the novels Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Little Women, Wuthering Heights and my very favorite Jane Eyre.  We will see if North and South gets added to the list of lovely love stories.  I do like a good old fashioned romance.
