Let me introduce you to...
Our chickens. Ruby, Bobby, Beth Anne, Lulu, Lacy, Chickzilla and Shelly. After only one week we lost Beatrice. If we can keep the skunks away I think they will do just fine.

35 years...
Eric is 35 today. I am one lucky woman to have him in my life. I love his sense of humor, sensitivity, wood splitting strength, desire for adventure, good taste in food, love for me and the kids, sympathy for others, love of the forest, his short running shorts and his darn good looks.
Happy Birthday to my one and only.

Put your shoes on...
Sierra often has to be reminded to put her shoes on. She loves to be barefoot and dream of pioneers. I am okay with it when things dry out but in June the great Oregonian state is still muddy. I don't think shovels and toes like each other either. She helped the most with the garden and got lettuce starts going before the garden boxes were ready. She loves dirt and all things growing.
Mr. Darcy...
We planted our garden! I am working on my flowers too. I dream of having a cutting garden. That probably comes from watching too many movies inspired by Jane Austen books. Ladies in dresses and hats, baskets in hand, an endless supply of flowers they cut and then arrange. I am going to do it too, I just need more flowers and a great hat. I should probably start calling Eric Mr. Darcy as well.

Bird...
Eric's brother JC (or Bird) was kind enough to let me give him a little makeover. He was a good sport about the whole matter. I gave him a haircut, he shaved and I put him in a more slim fitting shirt and smaller tie, that was it really. I really only know how to do one kind of haircut and when I finished and he looked in the mirror he said, " Oh, I look just like Eric."
JC is such a good, genuine person. He is smart (studying for the MCAT this summer with plans for medical school), he loves music and plays the guitar, harmonica, banjo, mandolin, trumpet, and dabbles in a variety of other instruments including the accordion, he has a great interest in people and what makes them tick. He is positive, fun and quirky. This sounds like an ad for him, it's not but he is young, single and will be at BYU Provo in the Fall if any of you out there have a girl you think he should meet.
Thanks for letting me dress you up JC and even if I turned you into Eric for a few hours I like you just fine the way you are. But you must admit that shirt and tie look pretty sharp.
