Good Witches...

Wicked! Eric's Mom took me, Amber and Krista to "Wicked" last week. I would definitely see it again someday. Thank you Bonnie!

Eric took the day off and the kids thought it was Christmas. They had a lot of fun playing with Dad all day long. I guess I will have to take a day off again sometime.

Something is missing...

Can it be true, little Mason has lost a tooth? It has been loose for a week or two and it fell out this morning when he was brushing his teeth. He will be five at the end of the month, where has the time gone?

A-L-L-I-E

A few days a week Mason and Allie and I have "Lesson Time." We sit at the table and work on reading, writing, numbers, etc. Allie was very excited this week when she wrote her name all on her own. I was helping Mason and not paying close attention to what she was doing when she said, " Mom look, I wrote my name!" She was very proud.

The funny thing is she has been writing all of the letters in her name randomly for a few weeks and this time it was just a coincidence that she got all of the letters in the correct order. But she knew it was her name spelled out. I wish you could have seen how excited she was, maybe you can tell in the picture.

30...

Thank you to everyone for making my 30th birthday such an event, I wasn't really expecting so much attention. Thank you for your nice words, cards, gifts and thanks to a certain someone for one HUGE chocolate cake. I was so spoiled and felt so loved I decided I am going to turn 30 every year!

*Eric should do more postings on this "blog" (shudder) thing. He would add some pretty fun posts don't you think?

Happy Birthday to My Bride

Eric here (obviously..Cherie would never write this about herself). This site is completely Cherie’s thing. In fact, I have some deep-seated reservations about the whole blog (shudder) thing, and this will go into the real deep seats, but… today is February 25, which means 30 years ago today, my bride was born. So I’m taking over temporarily, as today is a great day to celebrate for me and many of you whose lives have been enriched by her.

So, without further ado, my top 13 reasons why, FYC-style, she drives me crazy:

1. Every Sunday, I walk into the church and say, without guile, “The best-looking girl in the house is on my arm today.”

2. She’s given my daughters some great genes (not to mention the excessive great jeans)

3. At a time in life when I thought I was full-up on sense, she smacked it into me.

4. She is the world’s best mother (you don’t even know the half of it).

5. When the outdoors are calling me, she’s never yanked on the reins.

6. Of my favorite moments in the outdoors, I've shared the best ones with her.

7. If you swing by the house during the day when she’s in a cleaning mood (often), you find the stereo either pumping MarvEllis or rocking Coldplay…and she’s OK with the fact that I’ll never be quite so heart-throbby as Chris Martin.

8. No one runs a better race crew, no one forms a better cheer squad (ask the other racers…they’ve vocalized it) and NO ONE creates a more beautiful sight at the end of 50 kilometers…and she’ll only curse under her breath when I puke on her shoes.

9. She can tell you the best tracks on Page & Plant’s No Quarter Unledded…..or Pink Floyd’s Pulse…..or Rattle ‘n Hum…..

10. For her, and her only, I can be the song writer, poet and rock star that I’ll never get to really be in this life. And she’s never laughed.

11. I’ve never had to answer one of my dad’s favorite hypotheticals, “Would you rather your wife be exceedingly good-looking, or a fantastic cook?”

12. The more time goes on, and the more our family grows, the more beautiful she becomes.

Add to the list and let her know how great she is. Happy birthday to my bride.

Cat Craft...

The kids had fun making a cat out of a mitten. The idea came from the Family Fun magazine...we tweaked it a little.

We wish to welcome you...

to munchkin land.

Our kids have been introduced to the Wizard of Oz and they love it. Maybe that was the inspiration for this? Mason also changed his pants when he saw what Eric was wearing so he could match.

Girly...

I love these "pettiskirts", I bought them more for me than the girls but I don't think I would look very good in one.
